The Board of Aurora Healthcare assumes responsibility for defining and guiding the organisation’s strategic direction and overseeing its performance.

Aona Liu | Chair & Non-Executive Director

Aona began her career in strategic consulting and has experience in mergers & acquisitions and healthcare management across Singapore, Japan, Australia, and China. She is currently the Executive Chairperson of Luye Medical Group, the hospital and healthcare services platform of Luye Life Sciences Group Ltd. Luye Medical Group provides medical services focused on specialties such as oncology, cardiology, mental health, and rehabilitation.

Aona is also the founding CEO of Philosojoy Singapore Pte. Ltd., a company established to invest in artistic areas and to preserve and promote Asian art, culture and heritage. 

Aona holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (Honours) and a Master of Arts in Economics (Honours) from the University of Edinburgh and a Master of Science in International Healthcare Management from Imperial College London.

Richard Ong | Non-Executive Director

Richard is the Founder and Chairman of the RRJ Group. Prior to founding the RRJ Group, Richard was the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of HOPU Fund I.

Prior to 2008, Richard had a 15-year career with Goldman Sachs. Based in Beijing, he was a Partner and Co-Head of the Asian Ex-Japan Investment Banking Division. He became a Managing Director of Goldman Sachs in 1996 and a Partner in 2000. He was also a member of the Goldman Sachs Asian Management Committee. Prior to his transfer to Goldman Sachs Gaohua Securities Co. Ltd. in Beijing, Richard was the Co-President of Goldman Sachs Singapore. He also has experience working in Hong Kong, and before joining Goldman Sachs, Richard worked in New York City for Chase Manhattan Bank and Prudential-Bache Capital Funding.

Richard holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University.

Vivian Lam | Non-Executive Director

Vivian is the CEO of RRJ Management (HK) Limited and a seasoned home-grown private equity investor with 20 years of direct investment experience, and has been active in promoting Green Finance and ESG.

Prior to joining RRJ, Vivian spent more than 11 years working in the Hong Kong and Shanghai offices of GE and GE Capital, and 1.5 years at PwC. She is a Chartered Accountant and Financial Analyst (CFA) and holds a Master of Business Administration from Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Hong Kong with First Class Honours.

Charles Wang | Executive Director & Group CEO

Charles has many years of experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and financial management, with over 20 years spent working for publicly-listed and private companies in the healthcare industry.

Charles currently serves as the Group Chief Executive Officer of Luye Medical Group. He initially joined Luye Medical Group as the Chief Financial Officer in February 2015 and later assumed the role of Group Chief Executive Officer in April 2017. During the period from February 2015 to December 2016, he also held the position of Group Vice President at Luye Pharma, where he oversaw merger and acquisition activities as well as capital market initiatives, including equity and debt-related transactions outside of the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

Charles earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics (Honours) from the University of Leeds in 1988. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and has been since 1991.

Julia Strickland-Bellamy | Director & Aurora Healthcare Australia CEO

Julia brings over 25 years of experience in senior health management, having held Senior Executive and Director roles with leading health and aged care companies in Australia. For the past decade, she has been with Aurora Healthcare and Healthe Care, serving in various executive positions before becoming CEO of Aurora in 2021. Julia has a strong track record of leading the expansion of mental health services, including greenfield strategy development. She holds a GAICD Company Director qualification, a Master of Business Administration, a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Service Management, and a Bachelor of Nursing.

Tony Marshall | Executive Director & Chief Legal Officer

Tony brings over 25 years of experience in the legal industry, having worked in private practice and top-tier firms across Australia. For the past seven years, he has been an integral part of Aurora Healthcare, initially serving as General Counsel and Company Secretary before being promoted to Chief Legal Counsel. His impressive qualifications include a Master of Laws (LLM), a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), a Bachelor of Science (BSc), and an In-House Lawyer Certification (ACC ICC).
