Professional background
Prof Gericke is a Neurologist, Epileptologist, and Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Australian National University. He also serves as Squadron Leader and Aerospace Neurologist in the RAAF. Previously, he worked as an academic neurologist at Calvary Mater Newcastle, Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane, King’s College Hospital London, and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. After graduating from medical school in Berlin, he trained in neurology at the Charité, followed by adult and paediatric epilepsy fellowships in Strasbourg and Geneva. He holds two research doctorates and master’s degrees from the Universities of Cambridge and London. He chairs the Australia and New Zealand Association of Neurologists Therapeutics Committee and serves on the International League against Epilepsy Standards and Best Practice Council.
