Professional background
Dr Farideh Absalan RANZCP is a consultant psychiatrist and a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrist since 2000
Dr Absalan has certificate of advanced training in psychotherapy from RANZCP and has completed training at NSW institute of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
Dr Absalan works four days per week at Kellyville Private Hospital as a psychiatrist and psychotherapist. She is covering both outpatient and inpatient sectors.
Dr Absalan has a special interest in psychodynamic psychotherapy. She uses her expertise in treating patients who suffer from depression, anxiety, personality disorder and childhood trauma. She believes that psychological intervention has a major role in healing and improving mental health problems of many patients who suffer from depression and anxiety.
Dr Absalan is also involved in pharmacological and psychological treatment of adult patients who suffer from a wide range of mental health problems such as major mood disorders (depression, bipolar affective disorder), psychotic illnesses, anxiety, ADHD and OCD.
Dr Absalan speaks fluent Farsi and offers psychiatry services to people who speak the language.
