Professional background

Florence is a registered psychologist who brings extensive experience across both public and private mental health settings. She has worked in acute and complex care environments including the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), a residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program on the Gold Coast, inpatient group therapy within private health, and as a telephone crisis supporter with Lifeline. She also has experience in private practice, delivering tailored, evidence-based therapy to individuals across the lifespan.

Florence primarily works with clients experiencing anxiety, substance and alcohol use issues, trauma, emotional dysregulation, and mood disorders. Florence has a particular clinical interest in anxiety and stress-related disorders, and is passionate about helping clients deepen their understanding of their symptoms while equipping them with practical, evidence-based strategies to manage them effectively.

Florence draws on a range of evidence-based approaches to suit each client’s unique needs, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to address unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to build psychological flexibility and value-driven action, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and healthy relationships.

With a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental approach, Florence offers therapy to adolescents and adults navigating a wide range of life challenges. She creates a collaborative, client-led space where individuals feel safe, understood, and empowered to work toward their goals.
