Professional background
Dr Michael Lee trained locally and has worked in a variety of treatment settings in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast. Prior to entering psychiatric training, he worked as a medical registrar with experience in General Medicine and Palliative Care.
He offers assessment and treatment for a variety of mental health conditions including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders and trauma related conditions such as PTSD. Dr Lee's advanced training focussed on Addiction Psychiatry where he worked across the public and private sectors.
He is experienced in dual diagnosis assessment and treatment and has a particular interest in behavioural addictions such as gambling. During his training he sat as the Trainee Representative for the Queensland Branch of Addiction Psychiatry. Dr Lee is a published researcher and practises in a contemporary and evidence-based framework.
He likes to practice in acollaborative manner aiming to align with an individual's recovery goals while promoting resilience. Dr Lee provides both outpatient consultations and hospital admissions at Currumbin Clinic.
