Dr Prashanti Veeramachaneni

Dr Prashanti Veeramachaneni is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Psychogeriatrician. Her main areas of interests are mental health of the elderly and cognitive disorders including screening for dementia.

Dr Veeramachaneni has significant experience working in memory clinic settings, undertaking the assessment and management of memory problems in people from diverse cultural backgrounds. She also has expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions with a special focus on the health and wellbeing of older adults.

She commenced private practice at Robina Private Hospital in 2017.

After completing her specialist training in Old Age Psychiatry in the UK, she worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist in the UK until 2014. At this time, she relocated to Australia and worked in the public sector as a Staff Specialist in Psychiatry at the Gold Coast Mental Health Service, also providing specialist input toward its Care of the Elderly service.

Whilst in the UK, Dr Veeramachaneni was a Lecturer at the University of Liverpool and actively involved in training future Psychiatrists.

Dr Veeramachaneni is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK.
