Dr Sriram Thazhathaveetil

Dr Sriram Thazhathaveetil is currently a general adult psychiatrist at South Coast Private Hospital.

During his training, he has worked across hospitals in the Illawarra and Sydney region. He has a special interest in mental illness in the elderly and has completed an advanced certificate in Old Age Psychiatry.

He is affiliated to the University of Wollongong as a Clinical Lecturer. He works at the Wollongong Hospital Older Persons Mental Health Unit as a Consultant Psychiatrist. Dr Thazhathaveetil is currently enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Wollongong.

His thesis topic is "Developing neuropsychiatric scales for early identification of high-risk individuals who can develop dementia later in life". He has a special interest in: Early cognitive decline and behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia Late onset depression, schizophrenia and mania Biopsychosocial assessment and management of anxiety and mood disorders.

In his private practice, he does trauma work with emergency services and military services.
