Professional background
Dr Wong is a consultant psychiatrist and a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). He provides outpatient care in his private consulting suites and inpatient care at Belmont Private Hospital.
Dr Wong has gained extensive clinical experience across several major public mental health services in Queensland. His foundational and specialist training was completed across the Princess Alexandra (PA) Hospital, Logan Hospital, and Redland Hospital. This diverse experience allows him to provide high-quality care to patients with complex diagnostic and treatment needs.
Dr Wong obtained his medical degree at the University of Queensland before specialising in psychiatry. He is currently an Associate Lecturer with the University of Queensland School of Medicine, where he is actively involved in the education and mentorship of medical students and psychiatry trainees.
His clinical interests include the management of Mood Disorders, Anxiety, and Trauma-related conditions. Dr Wong also has a particular focus on the assessment and holistic management of Adult ADHD, working collaboratively with patients to optimise their functional outcomes.
Originally from Hong Kong, Dr Wong is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin in addition to English. He is dedicated to providing culturally sensitive care, ensuring his treatment plans are tailored to the unique background and life goals of each individual he treats.
In his spare time, Dr Wong is a passionate badminton player and enjoys staying active.
