Professional background
Dr Mirakian qualified with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from University of Melbourne in 1994. She completed her Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1999 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1999. Since 1998 she has been working in part time General Practice with a special interest in Women’s health and Sexual Health. From 2004 she has been working part time as a Visiting Medical Officer at Currumbin Clinic and since 2008 as a part time Forensic Medical Officer for Qld Health.
She completed her Masters of Forensic Medicine at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine in 2015 and became a Fellow of the Australasian College of Legal Medicine and a Founding Fellow of the Faculty of Clinical Forensic Medicine (Royal College of Pathologists Australasia). Dr Mirakian is a member of the Currumbin Clinic MAC committee and has recently joined the Currumbin Clinic pharmacy committee.
