Professional background

Dr Gaurav Srivastava is a Clinical Haematologist with a special interest in malignant haematology, including multiple myeloma, lymphomas, myeloproliferative disorders, myelodysplastic syndrome and acute leukemias.

He also has a special interest in bone marrow failure syndromes including aplastic anaemia.

Dr Srivastava completed his haematology training at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow, India. He then worked in the Department of Haematology and was involved in treating leukemias, lymphomas and stem cell transplants.

In 2012 he moved permanently to Australia and has worked at Monash Medical Centre, Geelong Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and at The Alfred Hospital.

He is also a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), Adult Medicine Division.

Dr Srivastava aims to personally treat patients in a compassionate, friendly, professional and cost effective manner. He strives to meet his patient’s individual care needs and requirements, and always follows and adheres to Australian and international treatment guidelines.

His future goal is to establish an aplastic and leukemia foundation to help with the research and treatment of haematology conditions, including specialist blood disorder training and research.
