Dr Roebuck is a consultant psychiatrist working in the inpatient mental health unit in Brunswick Private Hospital. He has particular expertise in the treatment of trauma-related mental illness and has previously worked as a consultant psychiatrist in the traumatic stress clinic at Phoenix Australia, the National Centre of Excellence in Posttraumatic Mental Health. He is trained in structured trauma-focussed psychotherapies, including Prolonged Exposure. Dr Roebuck is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Mental and Physical Health and Clinical Translation (IMPACT) at Deakin University, where he is coordinating a large clinical trial for posttraumatic stress disorder. He also holds an affiliate position in the University of Melbourne Department of Psychiatry. Dr Roebuck aims to bring warmth, empathy and thoughtfulness to his consultations with patients.
