Aurora Healthcare Australia
We are a leading provider of private mental health, rehabilitation, and specialty healthcare services in Australia.
Our origins trace back to Healthe Care Australia, once the third-largest private hospital operator in the country. After 16 successful years as part of Healthe Care, our Specialty Services business restructured in 2021 to become Aurora Healthcare. Today, our Australian operations include both standalone and integrated mental health and rehabilitation/medical hospitals, along with community-based services.
Our portfolio encompasses 16 private hospitals (14 Aurora and 2 iMH) providing inpatient and day health care services, and community mental health services located in Australia’s major cities and key regional areas. With over 1,000 mental health beds, 500 rehabilitation/medical hospital beds, and a variety of outpatient mental health clinics and day program services, we are one of the largest private providers in Australia’s mental health and rehabilitation sectors.
iMH
Aurora Healthcare and Medibank's Amplar Health have partnered to introduce innovative models of care across Australia through a new mental health service, iMH. Both organisations share a vision to make integrated mental health services nationally accessible in Australia.
iMH stands for integrated mental health, focusing on combining inpatient and out-of-hospital care for shorter stay mental health admissions. This service complements traditional Aurora Healthcare private mental health hospitals and expands the variety of services we offer.
In 2023, Aurora Healthcare and Amplar Health launched iMH’s flagship private mental health hospital, Deakin Private Hospital. In 2024, we opened the second iMH facility, Hirondelle Private Hospital, and will also see the delivery of a third hospital, Nundah Private Hospital, in Brisbane in the second half of 2024.
These developments position iMH and Aurora Healthcare as leading providers of comprehensive mental health services across Australia.
