Professional background
Jessica completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Queensland. She has a particular interest in working with neurodivergent adults experiencing challenges with anxiety, perfectionism and chronic pain.
Jessica uses a warm and collaborative therapeutic style and draws on a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Schema Therapy and EMDR.
Jessica also provides Autism and ADHD diagnostic assessments for adults. Dr Byrne is passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals and currently facilitates ADHD and Autism group programs at Belmont Private Hospital.
The assessment process consists of:
- Clinical Interview (60-90 minutes)
- Questionnaires (in-person and online)
- Standardised assessment measures
- Report writing
- Feedback session
Jessica is trained in the administration and scoring of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale (ADOS-2).
After the assessment you will be provided with a comprehensive written report. Analysing the data and writing the report takes time, so we typically schedule a feedback session for 4-6 weeks later. Please note, Jessica does not currently offer cognitive testing or assessments for Intellectual Disability.
