Professional background
Dr Rebecca Ryan is an Australian trained Gastroenterologist, completing her core Gastroenterology years at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, before completing her specialist training in General and Transplant Hepatology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane in 2007.
Rebecca’s love for complex patients has taken her on a journey that began with the complex medical and social needs of a Liver Transplant Patient to the complex issues facing us today, post COVID. Rebecca particular interest now are in the management of Disorders of the Gut-Brain Axis, (DGBA) a wide variety of diseases, which stem from the interactions between Gut Dysbiosis and Psychological and Inflammatory stress on the body. These disorders are more severe and prevalent, since COVID.
Rebecca believes that identifying all the issues impacting on a patient's health are important, as not only do these impact on your Gastrointestinal Symptoms, but your health as a whole.

Dr Ryan performs Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy, and works at Robina and John Flynn.
